The ba-acappella community was started in July 1996 by Michael Olivier. Over the course of about two years the community grew to over 300 subscribers, quickly becoming the best way to stay connected with the local vocal scene around the Bay.
Michael, Ping Huang, and Paul Sinasohn manage the mailing list.
The web site was designed by Denine Uphoff and Michael. Denine designed the graphics and layout, and implemented the HTML. Michael handled the content aspects.
